Andrew's Critique

1
The sign is the pop of color. It makes sense. Its the most prominent item in the photo. The use of rule of thirds with the mirror makes this composition balanced and allows you to bring your view from the sign and into the background. It is well exposed. There is a great range of tones from whitest white to darkest black. The dirt on the mirror is slightly distracting, but overall the picture is great and simplistic.

2
The yellow bracket thing is the main pop of color. It makes sense because the yellow pops out more than the blue and red would. The sharp angle the picture is taken and different colors makes this photo pretty balanced and allows for good contrasts. It is well exposed. The picture also has a great range of tones, however a smaller range than the previous. I would possibly include more in the photo possibly in the background to improve the composition. It is good, however including different subjects in the background would help to balance the photo and add to the composition.

3
The lime is the pop of color. It makes sense because it contrasts from the other subjects and is the subject thats most in focus. It is well balanced. The white straw on the left balancing with the white edge of the counter on the right. The picture is well exposed and there is a great range of tones. I would have not changed anything. The photo creates a mood of happiness because of the bright summer colors. Overall the photo is great and has a great balance.

4
The brake caliper is the pop of color. It makes sense because it is the most colorful object in the photo. The contrasting colors between the brake and the black and grey wheel makes the photo balanced. It is slightly over-exposed. There is a good range of tones. I would change the focus. The brake seems slightly out of focus. Overall, this picture is good and well composed.

5
The yellow Shiner Bock labels are the pop of color and it makes sense because it is the most in focus and most prominent object. The different colored bottles and labels create a good compositional balance. It is well exposed, and there is a good range of tones from dark greens to the white labels. I would not change anything. The picture is overall great and makes me thirsty.

The yellow label is the pop of color, and makes sense because it contrasts from the dark post and white background. This contrasting makes the photo well-balanced. The photo is all well exposed. There is a good range of tones from the dark post to the white building. I would have maybe shifted the camera to the left a bit to have only the post on the right of the image. I think this image is overall pretty good, but composition may be lacking.

7
The red strawberry is the pop of color and this makes sense because it is the most visually prominent object. The contrast of the bright red and dark chocolate creates a good balance and good range of tones. The photo is well exposed. I would not change anything in the photo. Overall, I like the photo. It has great contrasts in colors from the bright red to bright green and dark brown.

8
The red paint on is the pop of color. The red pops out from the contrasting dark road and makes the photo pretty balanced. It is well exposed. There is a small range of tones. I would have possibly changed the angle of the shot to include more information in the image to add to the composition. Overall the image is good, but needing more compositional value.

9
The red bulbs are the pop of color. It makes sense because of the contrast from the dark red to the light sky which makes the composition well balanced. The photo is well exposed. Has a good range of tones mostly light tones. I would have made the red bulbs on the left in focus to make the main subject easier to find. The small size of the bulbs compared to the sky gives me an empty feeling inside. Overall, I think the photo is good, but the composition could be better.

10
The sprinkles are the pop of color. It makes sense because it is the most colorful object in the photo. The dark ground and the bright donut and sprinkles makes the composition pretty balanced. There is a good range of tones. The picture is well exposed. I would have maybe reduced the depth of field and taken the image at a sharper angle to add to the composition. This image is overall pretty good and gives me a lonely feeling of a ruined donut on the barren ground.
